Route Overview

Set at 11,755 ft, Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a powerful Himalayan pilgrimage. The journey combines sacred river towns, a demanding 16 km ascent, temple aarti and the remarkable landscape around the Mandakini valley.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 0

The Journey Begins

  • 10:00 PM meet at Rohini East/West metro parking area
  • Meet the trip lead and fellow yatris
  • Overnight journey towards Haridwar
Day 1

Into the Heart of the Himalayas

  • Early-morning stop at Har Ki Pauri
  • Drive via Devprayag, Dhari Devi and Rudraprayag
  • Arrive at Guptkashi, Sersi, Sitapur or Phata
  • Dinner and overnight at the resort
Day 2

The Climb of Faith

  • 04:15 AM drive to Sonprayag and local shuttle to Gaurikund
  • Begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath
  • Reach the temple area and attend evening aarti
  • Overnight in the selected camp or room category
Day 3

A Moment with Mahadev

  • 04:00 AM morning darshan
  • Visit Bheem Shila, Bhairavnath Temple and Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi
  • Trek down to Gaurikund and shuttle to Sonprayag
  • Return to the resort for dinner and rest
Day 4

Carrying the Mountains Back

  • 05:15 AM visit to Triyuginarayan Temple
  • Breakfast, checkout and Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath
  • Riverside meal stop near Rishikesh
  • Reach Delhi around midnight

What to Carry

  • Carry a heavy jacket, sweatshirt and several pairs of warm socks
  • Pack a sturdy poncho or raincoat
  • Wear broken-in trekking shoes with good grip
  • Carry an original Aadhaar card and a photo copy

Travel Notes

  • Drink water at regular intervals during the trek
  • Follow the trip lead and monitor altitude symptoms
  • Carry personal medicines, sunscreen and a power bank
  • Use registered transit providers if you need assistance
